The Blue Wall of Idiocy: Drew Peterson

Drew Peterson has finally been arrested and charged with two counts of murder in the death of his third wife, Kathleen Salvio. Peterson has eluded arrest for Salvio's death for four years after it was ruled an accidental drowning after a friend found Salvio's body in a dry bathtub. After the mysterious disappearance of his fourth wife, Stacy Peterson, attention was brought back to Salvio's death. Her body was exhumed and a second autopsy was performed. After finding a gash on the top of her head, the medical examiner ruled Salvio's death as a homicide.

Since the disappearance of his fourth wife, Peterson has made every effort to show his blatant disregard for both of his wives and for the children that he has with both women. His ability to cover up Salvio's murder and Stacy's disappearance for so long no doubt has something to due with his past as a police sergeant. After Stacy's disappearance, Peterson went on a media frenzy to inform the public that Stacy left him and the children for another man; however, none of her belongings were missing. Nor is there a missing man being reported either.

Peterson seemed to be fully aware that investigators would arrest him and enjoyed flaunting his guilt via the media. He found another young woman to charm and brainwash who agreed to be his wife. I witnessed the power of Drew Peterson win his new fiance went on the Today show with her father to declare that she had broken up with Peterson. Two days later, she appeared again with Peterson in tow, claiming that all was well. It appears that Peterson may have confessed his role in the murder of Kathleen Salvio to Stacy, causing him to feel the need to "eliminate" her as well.

Peterson sits in jail with a $20 million bond; however, his attorney is currently attempting to get this amount lowered. If the Judge honors this request, Peterson claims he will be able to make bond. I hope the Judge sees through Drew Peterson's b.s. and brings the hammer down upon him. In my history as a court clerk, bailiff, and paralegal, I have learned one thing: A cocky ex-cop is a guilty ex-cop.

Stacy Peterson remains missing; however the investigation remains open.
